Healthy hair starts at the root
High-Frequency Scalp Treatment in Austin, TX
A high-frequency scalp treatment is a non-invasive therapy in which a glass comb electrode passes a gentle, ozone-generating electrical current across the scalp. The current increases local blood flow and oxygen delivery to the hair follicles, while the ozone it produces is naturally antibacterial — together creating a healthier environment for hair to grow in.
Great hair starts at the root, and the root is skin. If your scalp is tight, oily, flaking, or simply neglected, no amount of conditioner further down the strand will fix what is happening at the follicle. This treatment works where the growth actually happens.
The technology is gentle but genuinely dynamic: a glass comb electrode is drawn slowly through the hair in sections, delivering a localized high-frequency current along with the ozone it generates. Most clients describe a warm tingle and a faint crackle — nothing sharp, nothing invasive, and no downtime afterwards.
Why clients book this treatment
- Boosted follicle stimulation — the current lifts blood flow and oxygen supply to the scalp, energizing follicles that have gone quiet
- Support for stronger growth — a better-nourished, better-oxygenated scalp is a more receptive place for hair to develop, and clients often notice less shedding and more density over a course of sessions
- A calmer, cleaner scalp — the ozone produced at the electrode is naturally antibacterial, which helps with oiliness, flaking, and itch
- Better absorption — scalp serums applied straight afterwards sink in instead of sitting on the surface
- Needle-free, non-invasive, and no downtime — you leave with dry hair and can style as normal the next morning
What to expect, step by step
Scalp analysis
We part and assess the scalp section by section — oil, flaking, tension, and density — and agree the plan for the series.
Cleanse & section
The scalp is cleansed and dried completely, then the hair is sectioned so the electrode can reach the skin, not just the hair.
High-frequency pass
The glass comb electrode is drawn slowly through each section, working the current and its ozone across the whole scalp.
Serum & pressure massage
A scalp serum is worked in with a circulation-boosting massage while the follicles are at their most receptive.
Home-care plan
You leave with a realistic routine and a recommended session rhythm — results come from the series, not a single visit.
Preparation & aftercare
Before your appointment
- Arrive with clean, completely dry hair — the current is only used on a dry scalp
- Skip oils, dry shampoo, hairspray, and other alcohol-based products on the day of your appointment
- Remove metal hair pins, and any necklaces or earrings, before we begin
- Tell us in advance if you are pregnant, wear a pacemaker or any electronic implant, have epilepsy, or have metal implants in the head or neck — high-frequency is not suitable in those cases
After your treatment
- Leave the finishing serum in — no washing for about 12 hours
- A faint ozone smell straight after the session is normal and fades within the hour
- Go easy on high heat styling and tight ponytails for the rest of the day
- Plan the series: weekly or fortnightly for six to ten sessions, then monthly maintenance

High-Frequency Scalp Treatment: your questions
How many high-frequency scalp treatments do I need?
The scalp usually feels cleaner and less tight after the first session, but hair responds on its own timetable. Plan six to ten sessions, weekly or fortnightly, before judging changes in shedding and density — then keep it up monthly.
Does a high-frequency scalp treatment hurt?
No. The current is low and the sensation is a warm tingle with a faint crackle; the most surprising part is the smell of ozone, not the feeling. Intensity is adjusted to your comfort throughout.
Will it regrow hair I have already lost?
It is a scalp-health treatment, not a medical one. It improves circulation, oxygen delivery, and the condition of the skin your hair grows from, which supports the hair you still have. Pattern hair loss, alopecia, and thyroid- or medication-related shedding need a dermatologist — this works well alongside that care, not instead of it.
Who should not have this treatment?
It is not suitable during pregnancy, or for anyone with a pacemaker or other electronic implant, epilepsy, metal implants in the head or neck, or open, infected, or recently operated-on areas of the scalp. Our consent form screens for all of these.
